From a busy mind to more rhythm: Elise’s beginner diary

In this microdosing Beginners Protocol diary, Elise shares her honest experience after 8 weeks of Fungki. Nothing spectacular, but subtle: more rhythm, less mental noise, and days that simply felt a little easier.

I almost forgot every time. Not on purpose. I wake up in the morning, switch my day on and keep going. Work, meetings, things to arrange, a full head. And then I would often only think about it later. At the end of the day, when I looked back and noticed that the day had actually gone pretty smoothly. Then I thought: “oh yeah, I took Fungki today. What a good day.”

Maybe that’s the best way for me to describe my experience with microdosing. It didn’t feel like a cup of coffee that you notice straight away. It was more subtle. More like the difference between a day that starts off sluggish and a day that simply flows. Not spectacular. But good.

 

Why I started microdosing

I’m Elise, 29 years old and an entrepreneur. I work full-time and I’m someone who always has a lot going on. Lots of ideas, lots of work, lots of responsibility. I love that, but I also noticed that being busy isn’t always the same as being productive. Sometimes, at the end of the day, I felt like I had been busy all day, but hadn’t really finished anything. As if my mind had been switched on all day, but not necessarily in the right direction.

Week 1: there was something, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it

The first week wasn’t suddenly magical. No big breakthrough, no sudden clarity. But there was something. The most noticeable example was cycling. Normally, I hate cycling. Really. But one day, I just cycled for thirty minutes and actually found it quite chill. Normally, I would feel resistance around that. No motivation, too much hassle, rather not. But this time I just did it, without thinking about it too much.

That was actually the strange part: I didn’t notice it as a clear effect in the moment itself. I only noticed it afterwards. I would look back on my day and think: hey, that actually went pretty smoothly. And only then I’d think: oh yeah, Fungki. Other than that, I didn’t experience any side effects. I slept well, ate normally, and everything felt fairly ordinary — just a little lighter. What was disappointing? Honestly, only one thing: that I’m not always like this.

 

Week 3: feeling good in my work, but not every day

After three weeks, I wasn’t suddenly doing completely different things. My work was still my work. But the way I felt in it was different. I just felt genuinely good in my work. I also noticed that I had less resistance when starting tasks. Less noise. Less of that internal fuss before getting into something. When I got distracted, it was easier to return to what I was doing.

But honestly: not every day was like that. There were also just normal days. Days when I wondered whether I was feeling it at all. At first, I found that confusing. I had started to expect it to always be there, but that’s not how it works. It wasn’t a switch. More like a shifting undercurrent. That taught me to look at it differently: not measuring every single day, but looking back on the week.

 

Week 6: calmer on the inside

Around week 6, the change became the clearest, but not in the way I had expected. It wasn’t about how much I did. It was about how I felt while doing it. More relaxed. Happier. Less sensitive to stress. As if there was a little more space between what happened and how I responded to it. I just felt good in myself.

People around me hadn’t really said anything about it. Maybe I was a bit more relaxed, but it wasn’t hugely noticeable. No visible transformation. More of an internal shift. And maybe that’s exactly what I liked about it: I didn’t feel like I was becoming “different”. I felt more like myself, but with less noise.

 

Week 8: content

After eight weeks, my biggest surprise wasn’t one specific moment or achievement. It was a feeling. I feel content. That word stayed with me. Calmly satisfied. Not overly happy, not rushed. Just good. And I actually found that really valuable.
